Kevin I’m curious if you’ve followed the approach Denver and Boston have taken -- effectively slowly closing camps but providing a spectrum of transition or permanent housing options. I used to lead the coalition in Denver to stop sweeps and the criminalization of homelessness and I’m still 100% behind it. And obviously PSH is what we want, but we know there’s a multi-year delay on production in the best scenarios. But the situation in these camps is also rough and getting rougher the past few years. So there’s a political side of me that sees the value of the compromise strategy of these mayors (even if it’s not what I would call for to push forward the limits on what happens). But I’m still angry about some of the ways it’s implemented. Would appreciate your take.
One of the things that hurts my heart the most about this is how many people I meet daily in this work who say “I came to minneapolis because I heard it was one of the best places in the country to be homeless”. And then they are met with this. The disregard this city has for human lives is horrifying.

Stop the sweeps. Period
